Summary: Jain Panchang provides Panchang, Jain religious-calendar utilities, reminders, Family and Sangh features, Jain Business Directory (JBD), notifications, optional advertising, and related services. Some features work without an account. Features such as JP-ID, Family/Sangh sharing, business ownership, recovery, uploads and certain community functions require information described below.

1. About this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jain Panchang and Experian Infotech (“Jain Panchang”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collect, use, store and disclose information when you use the Jain Panchang mobile applications, related web pages, WebView features, backend services and other services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by law, we request consent before the relevant processing occurs.

2. Information We Collect

A. JP-ID and account information

When you create or recover a Jain Panchang identity (JP-ID), we may process:

display name;
JP-ID and the internal Firebase user identifier linked to it;
recovery email address;
account creation, recovery, consent and security timestamps;
terms/privacy-consent versions accepted by the user; and
temporary recovery or verification challenge information used to protect the account.

B. Family, Sangh and shared-event information

If you use Family or Sangh features, we may process information such as:

Family/Sangh identifiers, names and memberships;
invitations, join requests, roles and administrative permissions;
shared events, reminders, audience selections and related event metadata;
sync status and limited device-notification identifiers needed to keep shared events up to date; and
administrative records necessary to manage membership, quotas, abuse or data integrity.

Religious/community information: Because Jain Panchang is a Jain-community application, some choices or memberships may reveal or suggest religious interests or affiliation. We do not use sect selection, Family/Sangh membership, religious-event activity or similar religious information for personalized advertising.

C. Jain Business Directory (JBD)

When you register, claim, manage, view, report or contact a business through JBD, we may process:

business name, JBD-ID, category, city and description;
business contact details such as mobile number, WhatsApp number and email address;
products/services, descriptions and related metadata;
optional business logo, cover/header images and product/service images;
business ownership, claim and moderation status;
Terms & Conditions acceptance records;
reports submitted about businesses or products/services;
optional business map location, including exact latitude/longitude if the business owner chooses to save it; and
moderation/audit information needed to review, approve, reject, remove or investigate content.

Approved JBD business profiles, business contact information, products/services, approved media and business map location are intended to be discoverable by Jain Panchang users. Information submitted only for moderation, ownership verification, reporting or administration is not intended to be publicly displayed unless it forms part of an approved public listing.

D. Advertising-interest enquiries

If you use “Advertise with Jain Panchang”, we may collect:

contact person name;
business name;
mobile/WhatsApp number;
email address;
city;
advertising interest type; and
any optional note you submit.

E. Location and time-zone information

Panchang, sunrise/sunset and time-based calculations may use a city, latitude/longitude or time zone that you select or permit the app to use. Jain Panchang does not require continuous background location tracking for ordinary Panchang use.

A business owner may separately choose to save an exact business location for JBD directions. That location relates to the business listing, not continuous tracking of the owner or directory user.

Advertising and infrastructure providers may also infer an approximate location from the device IP address as described in their own policies.

F. Notifications and device information

To deliver notifications, reminders and shared-event sync alerts, the Service and its providers may process push tokens, app/device identifiers, operating-system information, language, time zone and notification-delivery information.

G. App usage, diagnostics and technical data

We and our service providers may receive technical information such as IP address, device type, operating-system version, app version, app interactions, session/performance information, crash diagnostics and timestamps. This information is used for security, reliability, analytics, troubleshooting and service improvement.

H. Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase a subscription such as Remove Ads, the transaction is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We may receive transaction/entitlement status needed to provide the purchased feature. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

I. Information stored locally on your device

Jain Panchang may store settings, cached Panchang data, cached directory/category information, reminder data, downloaded/cached images, consent state and other app preferences locally on your device to improve performance and offline usability.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for purposes including:

providing Panchang, calendar, sunrise/sunset, reminder and time-based features;
creating, recovering and securing JP-ID accounts;
operating Family, Sangh and shared-event features;
operating and moderating JBD listings, products/services, claims, reports and business locations;
delivering push notifications and shared-event synchronization;
responding to advertising enquiries and support requests;
providing optional AI-assisted draft writing when requested by the user;
maintaining subscriptions and Remove Ads entitlement;
preventing abuse, fraud, duplicate misuse, unauthorized access and security incidents;
diagnosing crashes, measuring performance and improving the Service; and
complying with applicable legal obligations.

4. Public, Shared and Private Information

Public JBD content: approved business listings, approved product/service information and approved media may be visible to other users.
Family/Sangh content: shared events and membership information are intended for the relevant members or administrators according to the feature’s permissions.
Administrative information: ownership records, reports, rejected/pending content, abuse records and moderation notes may be visible to authorized Jain Panchang administrators.
Advertising enquiries: advertising-interest submissions are intended for Jain Panchang administration/business follow-up and are not public directory listings.

Please do not submit information that you are not authorized to share, especially personal data about another person.

5. AI-Assisted Description Writer

JBD includes optional AI-assisted tools that help draft a business or product/service description. The AI tool is not required to use the directory.

When you choose Generate or Regenerate, text that you enter for the AI-writing request, together with limited instructions such as the requested language and whether the text is for a business or product/service, is sent through our secure backend to Google Cloud generative-AI services, including Vertex AI, for processing.

Please do not include unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information in an AI prompt. AI output is a draft only. You can edit it and must choose whether to use it.

We do not intentionally send your Family/Sangh membership, religious-event history, JP-ID profile, recovery email, or other unrelated account information to the AI service as part of the description-writing prompt unless you yourself include such information in the text you submit.

AI processing is also subject to the privacy and data-processing terms of the relevant Google Cloud service.

6. Advertising, Consent and Analytics

The free version of Jain Panchang may display advertising through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your region, consent choices and device settings, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device/app identifiers, advertising data, ad interactions, diagnostics and performance information.

Where required, Jain Panchang uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or another applicable consent flow to obtain and record advertising/privacy choices. Available choices may include personalized, non-personalized, limited or other legally appropriate ad-serving modes.

Jain Panchang does not use religious/community signals for personalized ads. We do not intentionally send sect selection, Family/Sangh membership, Jain religious-event activity, JP-ID, recovery email, or JBD ownership status to AdMob for interest-based targeting.

Users with an active Remove Ads entitlement may receive an ad-free experience according to the subscription terms, although non-ad service providers needed for app operation may still process data.

7. Service Providers and Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information as part of operating Jain Panchang. We may share or allow processing of information with service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, analyze or improve the Service, or as required by law.

Apple App Store / Google Play	Distribution, billing, subscriptions, purchase verification and platform account services.
Map/directions providers	When you explicitly open Directions or a map link, the selected business coordinates or destination may be passed to the map application/service you choose.

These providers operate under their own privacy terms and may process information in countries other than your own.

8. Reports, Moderation and Safety

JBD allows users to report businesses and products/services. Reports may include a selected reason and an optional comment. Reports do not automatically remove a listing; authorized administrators may review the report and take appropriate action.

We may retain moderation, report, claim, ownership and security records where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, prevent repeated misuse, protect users, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

JP-ID/account data	Generally retained while the account is active and until deletion is completed, subject to limited security, legal, fraud-prevention or backup retention.
Recovery/verification challenges	Temporary security records are designed to expire after the relevant verification/recovery window, although limited security logs may be retained longer.
Family/Sangh data	Retained while needed for active membership, shared events, synchronization and administration. Deleted/expired events may be removed according to service-maintenance rules.
JBD public listings and media	Retained while the listing remains active or until removed by the owner/admin or through an applicable deletion request.
JBD reports/moderation records	May be retained for a reasonable period to support moderation, dispute handling, abuse prevention and audit integrity.
Advertising-interest enquiries	Retained while the enquiry is being handled and for a reasonable follow-up/business-record period, then deleted or minimized when no longer needed.
Advertising/analytics/push data	Subject to the retention practices and privacy settings of the applicable service provider.

10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on the feature and your location, you may be able to:

choose whether to create a JP-ID;
update supported profile/account information;
leave a Family or Sangh where the feature permits it;
delete or manage your own JBD content subject to moderation/business rules;
choose whether to use optional AI-writing tools;
control notification permissions through your device settings;
manage advertising/privacy choices where the consent interface is available;
control device permissions such as location through iOS/Android settings; and
request access, correction or deletion of personal information where applicable law provides such rights.

Withdrawing permission may prevent some features from functioning, but it does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal or information we must retain for legitimate security/legal reasons.

11. Account and Data Deletion

If you have created a JP-ID/account, you may initiate an account/data deletion request from the Jain Panchang app. If you cannot access the app, you may also use our account-deletion page: https://jainpanchang.in/delete-account/.

Deletion is intended to remove or anonymize personal account data and user-created content associated with the account where reasonably possible. Some information may be retained when necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, moderation integrity or backup recovery, and will be deleted or anonymized when that retention is no longer required.

Public JBD information associated with a business may require separate removal or ownership handling where the listing represents an ongoing business record rather than only a personal profile.

12. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access, secured cloud services and access controls for administrative functions. However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting access to your device, email account and any account-recovery links sent to you.

13. International Processing

Jain Panchang uses cloud and technology providers that may process information on servers located in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual, consent or other lawful mechanisms for such processing.

14. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly create accounts for, or intentionally collect personal information from, children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If we learn that a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete or otherwise appropriately handle that information.

15. External Links and Web Content

Jain Panchang may open third-party websites, maps, stores or web content. Those services are not controlled by us and their own privacy policies apply. Web pages displayed inside the app may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies where required for their functionality.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when features, service providers, laws or data practices change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated effective/last-updated date. Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent for material changes.
