Knowing a Family ID is not enough to join. An existing approved member invites the exact JP ID, and the recipient sees a pending invitation that must be accepted.

A shared family event space where membership is explicit and reminders reach approved members.
Family Alerts gives Jain Panchang users a controlled shared calendar for household and family events. It is private by design: members are added through exact JP ID invitations and the recipient must accept.
Everyone can contribute
Approved Family members can create shared Family events. The event creator manages their event; if a creator is no longer a current member, the Family can remove that orphaned event.
Pooled Family Event Credits
Each current approved Family member contributes 15 active Family Event Credits to the shared pool. Active one-time events use one credit. A yearly event keeps one credit occupied until that recurring event is deleted.
Sync when you need the latest Family data
Sync Family performs an immediate server fetch for membership and Family events, refreshes the local cache and reconciles local alerts. Once an event is on your device, reminder-time does not depend on Firebase or OneSignal.
Leaving is allowed
A member can leave a Family. Membership count and available capacity adjust, existing events are not automatically deleted, and that Family’s local alerts are cancelled on the leaving device.
How to use Family Alerts

Create / open JP ID
JP ID is the identity key used for Family invitations.

Create a Family or accept an invite
An invite is tied to the recipient’s exact JP ID.

Add Family Event
Approved members can create a shared event with date/time and one-time or yearly repeat.

Sync Family
Fetch the latest member/event state when changes were made on another device.

Receive local reminders
Synced timed events schedule local 30-minute and 5-minute alerts on the member’s device.
Platform note: Event-alert presentation can vary by Android/iPhone version and the permissions allowed on the device. The app always follows the platform rules available to it.
Frequently asked questions
Can somebody join only by knowing my Family ID?
No. Family membership is invitation-only and tied to an exact JP ID; the recipient must explicitly accept.
How many Family Event Credits do we get?
Each current approved member contributes 15 credits to the pooled active-event capacity.
Does a yearly Family event use a new credit every year?
No. The recurring event occupies one active Family Event Credit until it is deleted.
What happens if a member leaves?
The member count and Family capacity decrease. Existing events are not automatically deleted, and local Family alerts are cancelled on the leaving device.
Do Family reminders need internet when they ring?
No. Once synced and scheduled locally, the reminder itself does not require the Family server at alert time.
