Jain Business Directory arrives in Jain Panchang
The largest functional addition in 2026.6 is JBD. Users can browse Jain businesses, services and products without JP ID. Account identity is required only when a user wants to register, claim or manage a business listing.
Business and product discovery
JBD supports both business-level and product-level discovery. Business profiles can include relevant information, images and optional location data. Users can report information that needs review, and user-submitted business/product content is moderated.
Optional AI-assisted descriptions
A business owner can optionally use AI assistance to draft a business or product description. The draft is not automatically published. The user reviews it and explicitly chooses whether to use it. The feature uses a Google Cloud / Vertex AI backend.
Current-day Calendar highlighting
The Calendar now makes today easier to recognize at a glance.
Improved Family and Sangh event experience
Family and Sangh flows continue to mature around membership, shared events, synchronization and reminders. Family uses shared active-event capacity contributed by approved members.
JP ID and recovery improvements
JP ID remains the identity layer for features that need account-linked membership or management. Recovery and cross-device continuity have been improved while the core Panchang remains usable without an account.
Dark mode, UI consistency, performance and reliability
The release also includes interface consistency work, dark-theme refinements, performance improvements and bug fixes.
The direction remains the same
Jain Panchang is still first a Jain Panchang and Jain Calendar. 2026.6 expands what users can do around that core — family coordination, Sangh events and Jain business discovery — without forcing every user into every feature.
Why 2026.6 is a broader update
Earlier Jain Panchang releases concentrated heavily on calendar and daily-reference improvements. Version 2026.6 adds a new discovery layer through JBD while continuing work on the existing Ekta Setu, Family, Sangh and reminder systems. That makes it a broader product update without changing the principle that the Panchang can stand on its own.
What has not changed
Users do not need to register simply to open the Jain Calendar or browse the Jain Business Directory. Religious calendar references remain distinct from user-generated business content. Business/product submissions are moderated, and users can report directory information for review.
A clearer path for different kinds of users
A user interested in today’s Jain Tithi can go directly to the Panchang. A family can coordinate shared events. A Sangh can use its community context. A Jain business owner can register or claim a listing using JP ID. A user looking for a business or product can browse JBD without creating an account. This separation is an important part of the 2026.6 design.
Website documentation follows the app
JainPanchang.in is being expanded alongside this release so users and search engines can find detailed explanations of JBD, JP ID, Jain Family, Jain Sangh, event reminders and the app’s core Jain Calendar features. The website is explanatory; actual feature availability is governed by the current app release and platform.
