What is JP ID?
JP ID is Jain Panchang's account identifier for features where the app needs to associate actions with a person. Examples include Family membership, Sangh-related account interactions and Jain Business Directory ownership actions such as registering, claiming or managing a business. The identity layer helps the app distinguish one account from another when information is shared or managed across devices or users.
What does not require JP ID?
The core Jain Panchang experience does not require an account. Users can continue to use the Jain Calendar and Panchang functions without creating JP ID. Browsing and searching the Jain Business Directory also does not require JP ID. This keeps basic information access separate from optional account-linked community features.

JP ID includes recovery-oriented workflows so a user is not forced to treat one phone as the permanent identity. Recovery information should always be kept accurate. Users should never send passwords, OTPs or payment-card details to support simply to request account recovery or deletion.

Jain Panchang provides account and data deletion options for JP ID users. The website also provides a dedicated account deletion / privacy choices page. Deleting an account is different from merely uninstalling the app.
Why Jain Panchang separates account-free and account-linked features
Many people open Jain Panchang simply to check Jain Tithi, a Jain Calendar date, Navkarshi time, sunrise, Choghadiya, Hora or another daily reference. Requiring an account before those functions would add unnecessary friction. The app therefore keeps its core Panchang experience usable without JP ID.
Other features need continuity across sessions or devices. Family membership, certain Sangh interactions, recovery and business ownership are examples where the system needs to know which approved user is performing an action. JP ID exists for those situations.

JBD browsing is open without JP ID. Registration, claiming and management are different because they can change public business information. Those actions use JP ID so management rights can be associated with an account rather than an anonymous browser session.
