Jain Panchang / Sangh Updates
OFFICIAL COMMUNITY UPDATES

Sangh Updates

A structured way for a Jain Sangh to publish events while members receive the information inside the Panchang they already use.

Sangh Updates is designed for official community event information — not an open chat group. Members request to join, Super Admins approve membership, and published Sangh events can appear in Calendar and local reminder flows.

Join by Sangh ID, then wait for approval

A member enters the Sangh ID and sends a join request. The request is not automatic membership; a Sangh Super Admin approves or rejects it.

Super Admins manage the official side

Ordinary members can see the Sangh experience and published updates. Super Admins manage join requests, members and Sangh events. A Sangh can have up to five Super Admins, with protection against removing the final Super Admin.

Sangh Event Credits are permanent earned capacity

A new Sangh starts with 100 Event Credits. Each additional unique member earns +5 the first time that JP ID joins that Sangh. If the member later leaves, those already-earned credits remain. Rejoining the same JP ID does not earn another +5.

Stored events use credits; deleting frees them

Every stored Sangh event uses one Event Credit, including drafts and past events. Deleting the event frees that credit. Published events are the ones intended for members/calendar alerts.

Calendar and local reminders

Published timed Sangh events can be shown in the Calendar and reconciled into local reminders after sync. Leaving the Sangh cancels that Sangh’s local alerts on the device.

How to join and use Sangh Updates

5

Use local event alerts

Timed published events can schedule local 30-minute and 5-minute reminders after they are synced to the device.

Platform note: Event-alert presentation can vary by Android/iPhone version and the permissions allowed on the device. The app always follows the platform rules available to it.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone publish a Sangh event?

No. Event creation and administration are Super Admin functions. Ordinary members receive the published Sangh updates.

How does a new Sangh get Event Credits?

A new Sangh starts with 100 Event Credits, then earns +5 when an additional unique JP ID joins for the first time.

Do Event Credits reduce when a member leaves?

No. Credits already earned by that Sangh remain even if that member later leaves.

Can someone leave and rejoin repeatedly to earn more credits?

No. A JP ID earns the +5 credit contribution only on its first-ever join to that Sangh.

Do drafts use Event Credits?

Yes. Every stored Sangh event uses one Event Credit; deleting an event frees one credit.

How are extra Super Admins added?

Existing Super Admins can promote an existing member or invite an exact JP ID through the separate Super Admin invitation flow, subject to the admin limit.
